iOS 5.1.1 Security Update

Apple have just release a minor update to iOS 5.
Labelled iOS 5.1.1, as you’d expect from a least significant change, not a lot will change.

Well, a fair few changes by Apple yesterday with the big news item the iPad HD. Along with that keynote speech came an update to the iOS that powers all Apples iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch range.

Lonely Planet: Best in travel 2012

I’ve had a flick through this now and find it both interesting and annoying at the same time. I don’t mind this being on 12 Days, and it is the entire book too, but this is a big book – 129MB. That’s a bit too big for my liking.
The reason is the undeniably rich photography used in the book.
The main areas of the book are place to try, around the world. I can’t help thinking though that no one in this economic climate is going to be able to afford these destinations.
Except perhaps a photojournalist, for Lonely Planet.

IPad update to iOS 5: music app problems

Alas, a few grumbles with the iOS 5 update on iPad 1.
I’m not alone either with many users reporting exactly the same issues on the Apple forums.
A particular problem seems to surround the new Music App.
(added a small update).

Facebook for iPad

Finally and just a day before iOS 5 is released Facebook have wrangled out the long awaited Facebook for iPad. Actuality, it is a refresh of the iPhone app that also performs appropriately on the iPad.

But was it worth the wait?
